When I am using the word illustration, I am not using it in the “nice visual to make the text look a bit more entertaining” sense. Sara is illustrating (throwing a light on) profound concepts that can only be expressed with the visual language. You could call it visual storytelling, but what it really is to me is using our superpower as designers in a responsible way. Not as a shiny surface to deceive, but as an invitation to experience and think intuitively.
